Registration for grades K - 8 is now closed and we are taking wait list enrollments only. High School registrations will be taken until November 13 or until the program is full; register soon for these limited spots. 

Times listed are approximate and will be adjusted once teams are formed. Time changes become necessary based on enrollment to allow all players plenty of time on the courts. Each level meets for one hour on Saturdays. Some levels have an additional practice on a weeknight. A sample practice schedule is below, but changes may become necessary due to gym availability and/or number of teams in a league.

Grades K-2
Co-ed instructional programs an play only on Saturdays under the direction of Head Instructor and an Assistant Instructor. Parent volunteers are needed as coaches to assist the instructors during the drills and to ensure fair rotations and answer player questions during game play. There are no weeknight practices at this level. The season will run from December 7 - March 1 and cancellations due to weather or other school closures will not be made up. There will not be basketball on 12/28/24 and 2/15/25. 

Grades 3-8
These grades are divided into boys and girls recreational leagues with a combination of instruction from our Head Instructor, one Board 10 Certified referee, high school aged assistant instructors and parent volunteer coaches. Practices are once per week starting as early as 5:30 p.m. and ending by 8:30 p.m. Please note that the Girls Grade 7-8 Division will not have weeknight practices and pending enrollment will either be a traditional 5 on 5 league with a minimum of 28 players or will take on the exciting format of 3 on 3 if there are between 16 and 27 players. Practices will start around 11/11/24. Saturdays in November will be unofficial scrimmages with league play beginning on December 7. There will not be any basketball 11/27/24-11/29/24 & 12/23/24-1/1/25. 

George Welch High School League
The high school league is a fun, competitive program coached by parents. Each team will have approximately 9 players and games will be officiated by two Board 10 certified officials. There are no weeknight practices. While the league has historically had significantly more male than female players each year, it is open to all high school students. There will not be basketball on 12/28/24.

Coaches
Parents are needed as volunteer coaches at all levels. The application can be downloaded by clicking here. All applications must be submitted ASAP. Coaches will meet in the Youth Center Tabor Room to review league rules with the Basketball Staff and to draft teams according to the following schedule:
Kindergarten: Monday, November 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
Grade 1: Monday, November 4, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
Grade 2: Tuesday, November 5 at 6:00 p.m.
Grades 3-4 Boys: Monday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m.
Grades 3-4 Girls: Thursday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m.
Grades 5-6 Boys: Monday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Grades 5-6 Girls: Thursday, October 24 at 7:00 p.m.
Grades 7-8 Boys: Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00p.m.
Grades 7-8 Girls: Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m.
Grades 9-12: Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30 p.m. - note that this meeting will be in the Youth Center Main Room
