Grades K-2
Co-ed instructional programs an play only on Saturdays under the direction of Head Instructor and an Assistant Instructor. Parent volunteers are needed as coaches to assist the instructors during the drills and to ensure fair rotations and answer player questions during game play. There are no weeknight practices at this level. The season will run from December 6 - February 28 and cancellations due to weather or other school closures will not be made up. There will not be basketball on 12/27/25, 1/3/26 and 2/14/26.
There are no evaluations at this level. Buddy or carpool requests are not permitted; siblings will be placed on the same team unless a parent contacts our office to request separate teams for their children.
Grades 3-8 (Boys)
These recreational leagues run with a combination of instruction from our Head Instructor, one Board 10 Certified referee, high school aged assistant instructors and parent volunteer coaches. Practices are once per week starting as early as 5:30 p.m. and ending by 9:00 p.m. Practices will start around 11/10/25. Saturdays in November will be unofficial scrimmages with league play beginning on December 6. There will not be any basketball 11/26/25-11/29/25 & 12/23/25-1/3/26.
These levels will have evaluations prior to the draft to ensure more fairly distributed players across the teams. Buddy or carpool requests are not permitted; siblings will be placed on the same team unless a parent contacts our office to request separate teams for their children. All players will be placed on a team, regardless of skill level and even if they miss the evaluations. Evaluations will be held on Saturday, November 1 at Dodd Middle School Gym. The times were as follows: Boys Grades 3 & 4: 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.; Boys Grades 5 & 6: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Boys Grades 7 & 8: 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Please note that the Girls Grade 7-9 Division will not have weeknight practices and pending enrollment will either be a traditional 5 on 5 leagues with a minimum of 28 players or use the format of 3 on 3 if there are between 16 and 27 players. Saturdays in November will be unofficial scrimmages with league play beginning on December 6. There will not be any basketball 11/26/25-11/29/25 & 12/23/25-1/3/26.

George Welch High School League
The high school league is a fun, competitive program coached by parents. Each team will have approximately 9 players and games will be officiated by two Board 10 certified officials. There are no weeknight practices. While the league has historically had significantly more male than female players each year, it is open to all high school students. There will not be basketball on 12/27/25 & 1/3/26.
There are no evaluations at this level. Buddy or carpool requests are not permitted; siblings will be placed on the same team unless a parent contacts our office to request separate teams for their children.
Coaches
Parents act as volunteer coaches at all levels. All coaches must submit a volunteer application annually. The application is available to download here and must be submitted by October 10.
