Artsplace All Registration & Payment Policies


Registration
Registration may be done online, by mail or at Artsplace. Online registration is always the fastest way to register. In the time that it takes to mail your registration, others may register online and fill the class. Students are not considered registered until full payment has been made and a waiver is signed. Artsplace accepts cash, checks made out to "Artsplace", MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit cards. If you need assistance registering online, please call Artsplace at 203-272-2787 Monday-Thursday 9 am-4 pm for help. No news is good news! If you have not heard from us, you will be expected in class at the prescribed day and time. If in doubt about the status of a class, phone us.
 
Fees
Artsplace is a department of the Town of Cheshire and supported by Cheshire taxpayers. For programs under $100, non-residents will pay an additional $5 fee. For programs over $100, non-resident will pay an additional $10 fee.
 
Cancellations
Artsplace reserves the right to cancel any classes that do not have the required minimum number of students. Early registration will help to ensure that classes don’t get canceled due to low enrollment. If a class is canceled, postponed or rescheduled you will be notified at least 3 days before the original start date of the class. If Artsplace cancels a program, you will receive a 100% refund in the same form as the original payment was made.
 
Refunds
Students who withdraw from a class up to two weeks before the class begins are eligible for a full refund. Up to one week before the first class, students who withdraw are eligible for a credit, less a $15 registration fee. After that, consideration can only be given with a written medical excuse, or in the case of other extraordinary circumstances.
 
Waiting Lists
Class sizes are limited and filled in the order received. Once a class is filled, you may be put on a waiting list for cancellations. Spots that open will be filled in the order the waitlist was filled.
 
Missed Classes
There are no make-ups, refunds, or credits for students missing a regularly scheduled class. Please call Artsplace if you are going to be absent or late to class. Classes not held due to inclement weather or instructor absence will be rescheduled. If it is not possible to reschedule a class that Artsplace cancels, then a refund will be given. Every attempt will be made to run children’s classes in the event the primary teacher is not available: this includes substituting teachers and/or changing the class theme.

Financial Aid
Artsplace may be able to provide financial aid for adults and children enrolling in art programs. Financial aid will be based on need and interest. Applications must be returned no later than 10 days before the beginning of the class for which the scholarship is being requested. Artsplace may offer partial scholarships to allow as many students as possible to participate in our programs. All applicants must submit a Scholarship Application form along with the first page of their last federal tax return for income verification. Please print legibly and be sure to provide all the information requested. All information will be kept confidential.
