Youth Literacy Volunteer Role:
Volunteers serve as positive role models and reading mentors for children in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Working one-on-one with a young reader each week, volunteers help build confidence and literacy skills by supporting reading activities, encouraging comprehension, and assisting with weekly themed worksheets and crafts, and participating in group indoor/outdoor activities.
Through patience, encouragement, and engagement, volunteers help foster a love of reading and demonstrate the lifelong value of literacy.
