Youth Literacy Volunteer Role:
This program is designed to promote confidence among young readers in Kindergarten through 2nd grade by working one-on-one with a teen mentor each week. Volunteers with assist with reading, comprehension and lend a hand with worksheets, daily craft project and indoor/outdoor activities. Being a volunteer your role is to help demonstrate the importance of reading and the part literacy will play in the young readers life as they grow older.
Summer Camp Volunteers:
As a volunteer for the Summer, you will work with the Yellow House staff to keep the camp running smoothly by helping to set up and cleaning up daily activities and assisting children throughout the day with indoor and outdoor games & activities, and help with arts & crafts.
Volunteers are expected to arrive 15 minutes early and stay 15 minutes after the program/camp ends. We can be flexible and will work around existing family plans, but need your commitment for the duration of the program/camp once you've registered. Volunteer certificates will be provided for required volunteer/community service hours on the last day of the program.Additional weekend Volunteer Opportunities Available
