Basics of Perspective - Learn the basics of one, two, and three point perspective drawing! In this class you’ll explore a wide variety of subject matter, from buildings and structures to the human form. With plenty of individual guidance and support, this is a great program for beginners and intermediates alike. (4 days)
Drawing a Satin Dress - This workshop welcomes artists of all skill levels to the expressive, forgiving qualities of charcoal through a drapery study of clothing. Students will explore foundational techniques in sketching and shading to build their understanding of depth, lighting, and reflective nature of a satin textured dress. In addition to traditional reductive work, students will have the option of toned paper and white charcoal to explore a different approach to these classic methods. Instructor: Sagan Anderson (1 day)
Drawing Evening Curtains - This workshop welcomes artists of all skill levels to the expressive qualities of rich sanguine pencil through a drapery study of curtains. Students will explore foundational techniques in sketching and shading to build their understanding of depth, lighting, and proportions of a sheer curtain. Students will work with toned tan paper and red sanguine pencils to explore warmth and mood in composition. Instructor: Sagan Anderson (1 day)
