S.L.A.M.M. (Science - Literacy - Art - Math & More) Ages: 6 - 9 years old Children will explore and learn through a variety of interactive experiences including listening to stories & music and creating daily crafts. Kids practice running short and long distance around Bartlem complex after group warm-ups, relay races and running games at the Yellow House. The group will end the night with a cool-down and a brief mindfulness exercise or meditation activity. Crazy 8’s Math Club Program designed for students in K-2nd grade (ages: 6- 8) Fee: $20.00 A get-up and move math club to show kids that math is fun and recreational, in order to change our culture and get kids to think of math as fun. We welcome all kids, those who enjoy math as well as those that may need a little extra math motivation. The club is designed to help kids appreciate the math that's all around them. It is facilitated by Yellow House staff and teen volunteers. The program aims to reduce anxiety around math, build confidence, and to turn math into a social bonding activity.

Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe and care for themselves when their parents are away for short periods of time. This is an instructor facilitated program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. The program is designed to prepare students for their first steps towards independence. (Class Fee includes a student handbook & a gift bag). *This is not a babysitter certification course (you can register for that course through Recreation). Upcoming Courses: Each of the upcoming courses covers the same material, please only sign up for one session.Small class sizes, 9 spots in each session.

Students in grades 6-8 that are interested in learning how to stay home alone safely as well as care for younger children should complete one of the SafeSitter babysitting courses. Kids practice running short and long distance around Bartlem complex after group warm-ups, relay races and running games at the Yellow House. The group will end the night with a cool-down and a brief mindfulness exercise or meditation activity. Crazy 8's Math Club - Crazy 8's Math Club - Summer 2025
Crazy 8’s Math Club Program designed for students in K-2nd grade (ages: 6- 8) Fee: $20.00 A get-up and move math club to show kids that math is fun and recreational, in order to change our culture and get kids to think of math as fun. We welcome all kids, those who enjoy math as well as those that may need a little extra math motivation. The club is designed to help kids appreciate the math that's all around them. It is facilitated by Yellow House staff and teen volunteers. The program aims to reduce anxiety around math, build confidence, and to turn math into a social bonding activity.
