Safe@Home Course - Safe@Home April 12th (Saturday morning)
Safe@Home by Safe Sitter® is a program designed for students in grades 4-6 to prepare them to be safe and care for themselves when their parents are away for short periods of time. This is an instructor facilitated program that teaches students how to practice safe habits, how to prevent unsafe situations, and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies. Students are also introduced to the Safe Sitter® First Aid Chart and learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Safe@Home is ideal for students that have expressed interest in assuming the responsibility of staying home alone. The program is designed to prepare students for their first steps towards independence. (Class Fee includes a student handbook & a gift bag). *This is not a babysitter certification course (you can register for that course through Recreation). Upcoming Courses: Each of the upcoming courses covers the same material, please only sign up for one session.Small class sizes, 9 spots in each session.

Students in grades 6-8 that are interested in learning how to stay home alone safely as well as care for younger children should complete one of the SafeSitter babysitting courses. The SafeSitter course is currently being offered by the Cheshire Park & Recreation Department several times throughout the school year.

Sports & Games Club - Sports & Games Club - Spring 2025 (Gr. 3-5)
NEW this Spring!Saturday afternoon Sports Club for 3rd-5th graders. Club meets for 3 Saturdays from 11:30am-1:30pm at the Yellow House.We'll play both classic sports and outdoor games. Kid club members will help decide what activities we'll do during the session. Each afternoon will include lots of fun and the games will incorporate positive youth development goals including communication, teamwork, and respect. This program will be offered FREE for 3 Saturdays; May 3rd, 10th & 17th Please note that the club will meet rain or shine (indoor activities will be planned). Snack will be included
Examples of activities we'll play: Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, Kickball, Wiffle Ball, Flag Football, Capture the Flag, and more!
