Artsplace Other Policies


Student Drop Off
Parents are to drop off students no earlier than five minutes before the program begins and pick up students no later than five minutes after the program endsWe ask that all parents walk their children into Artsplace. On the first day of class parents must walk their child to the classroom. After the first day, children can walk into the classroom themselves. The parking lot gets busy with traffic and parents/students should use caution when using the parking lot.

 
Student Dismissal
Students in any classes for grades 5 and under will not be dismissed from class without a parent/caregiver present to check them out of the classroom. Please pick up your child directly from the classroom or lobby and check-in with the teacher/staff so that they know the child is being dismissed.

 
Behavior
Artsplace reserves the right to withdraw any student whose behavior is deemed inappropriate, detrimental or disruptive to the functioning of the class or creates an unsafe environment.
 
Snacks and Drinks
Children may bring a water bottle to class. Snacks are prohibited in children’s classes unless specifically noted. 

 
Attire
Don’t dress in your best attire for art classes; art can get messy! Feel free to bring a smock.
 
Supplies
All standard supplies are included in the price of Artsplace classes unless otherwise noted. (Some classes may ask you to bring paper towels.)
 
Photos
During Town Activities, pictures and/or videos may be taken by staff and these may be used for future promotions; to revoke authorization to use pictures and/or videos email recreation@cheshirect.org and include the participant’s name and the Activity name.
 
Emergencies
In all cases and circumstances, Artsplace will call 911 and staff/teachers will abide by and follow all EMS/911 instructions during a medical emergency concerning any student. Artsplace staff/teacher will notify the parent/guardian (if under 18 years old) at the earliest opportunity.

 
Accessibility
Artsplace strives to provide a space that is welcoming and accessible to all. Artsplace is accessible by a ramp. If you have a disability and wish to register for a program, please let us know of any accommodations you might have.

Art Heals
Art Heals is a unique art program for Cheshire residents. It is a free series of art lessons taught by a professional Artsplace instructor with all materials included. Refer yourself or recommend a friend, family member or neighbor experiencing medical, emotional, or physical difficulties that render them homebound even temporarily. No prior art experience is necessary. Art Heals is confidential and sponsored by Friends of CPFA/Artsplace, Inc.
