10:00 AM - 12:00 PM    Watercolor - Line, Wash & a Bit of Gouache
Exploring Watercolor -  This class explores the many joys and challenges of painting with watercolor. Each week will include a short demo to get us warmed up and instructor suggestions for paintings which may span more than one class. Students may bring their own reference or simply choose to work from the provided ideas. Whether you are new to this medium or just want to dedicate time during your week to practice and improve your skill, this class offers something for you. Join me while we explore a variety of techniques and subjects. Students will be encouraged to work on composition and values as well as color mixing and water control. We will mainly focus on landscapes, but this will vary depending upon class input and interests. So come and join us for a bit of escape, fun and play with this magical medium. Instructor: Bonny Hartigan (6 weeks)Focus and Highlights - Learn to use mixed media to create a floral image with a bee. Show some elements in sharp focus in the foreground and other elements blurred in the background. Use watercolor, colored pencil and pen to great effect on watercolor paper. Discover some new techniques that you can apply to your other work. All supplies, along with a frame and mat, are included. Instructor: Agnes Wnuk (1 day)Line, Wash and a Bit of Gouache - Have you ever wondered about using other mediums with your watercolors? This class will explore some options while using fine line pens and some gouache to add to your watercolor, which creates a whole new look from traditional transparent watercolor. Summer is a fine time to experiment, relax and play while creating your artwork. Instruction is based on instructor demonstration along with student practice. We will use all three mediums in varying degrees while creating images inspired by the natural world around us. (we may even add a bit of colored pencil) Beginners and experienced painters are welcome. It is great fun trying different supplies and combining them with transparent watercolor. Instructor: Bonny Hartigan (6 weeks)
